Mortgage Rates Drop on Weak September Jobs Report
The
rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.76 percent this week, down
from last week’s 3.85 percent, Freddie Mac said yesterday. At this time last
year, the 30-year FRM rate averaged 4.19 percent. This week’s 15-year FRM rate
averaged 2.99 percent compared to last week’s 3.07 percent rate, falling below
3 percent for the first time since April. A year ago, the 15-year FRM rate
averaged 3.36 percent
